What is a School UDISE code?

- Every school is assigned a unique 11-digit number known as the UDISE code.
- This code is issued by the National Informatics Centre (NIC) under the Ministry of Education, Government of India, at the time of the school’s registration.
- The Central and State Governments/UT Administrations use this code to:
 a) Maintain a registry of school infrastructure and facilities,
 b) Track teaching and non-teaching staff deployed in the school, and
 c) Monitor the students enrolled in the school.
